Kay Vonderschmidt, NREMT-P, MPA
EMS Coordinator

 
Kay Vonderschmidt is the Director for EMS Education & Research and the Manager for the Special Operations Institute. She has over 25 years experience in EMS that includes patient care, teaching, and management.

Kay started her EMS career in 1974 with the Crescent Springs Volunteer Fire Department. Kay holds paramedic certifications from Kentucky, Ohio and National Registry. She is a certified EMS Instructor in Ohio and an EMS Level II and III instructor in Kentucky as well as Affiliate Faculty for the Advanced Medical Life Support Program and a Pre-Hospital Trauma Life Support Grant recipient for the National Association of EMTs.

Kay holds two Masters Degrees, one in Public Administration and the other one in Emergency Management and a Graduate Certificate in Non-Profit Management. She has been part of a volunteer speakers group that reaches out to local high schools. This speakers group teaches about alcohol awareness and prevention and includes Paramedics, EMTs, Social Workers, Judges and Police Officers and has won several awards both locally and state wide.
